Random Name Generator Privacy

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how the Random Name Generator browser extension ("the Extension"), published by Jackson Square Company, handles information. The short version: the Extension collects no personal data and transmits nothing. This policy explains that in detail and applies only to the Extension.

2. Information We Collect

We collect no personal information and transmit no information of any kind. The Extension does NOT collect, store, transmit, or share:

• Personal information (name, email address, age, or identifiers)
• Health, financial, or authentication information
• Personal communications of any kind
• Location data (IP address, GPS, or region)
• Web browsing history or the content of websites you visit
• User activity such as clicks, keystrokes, or mouse position
• Any data sold to third parties or used for advertising

The only information the Extension stores is described in Section 5, and it never leaves your device.

3. How the Extension Works

All functionality runs locally inside the browser popup. The name lists for all twelve countries (United States, Brazil, Mexico, France, India, Japan, Nigeria, Germany, China, Korea, Greece, and Russia) are bundled inside the Extension itself. Generating a name is a random selection performed on your device. The Extension makes no network requests and functions fully offline.

4. Generated Names and History

Names you generate, your country and gender selections, and the recent-picks history are held in temporary memory only. They are erased when the popup closes and are never written to disk, synchronized, or transmitted anywhere.

5. Locally Stored Settings

The Extension uses the browser's local extension storage for exactly two values: a count of how many times you have used the generate button, and whether you have responded to our one-time request to rate the Extension. These values exist solely so we do not repeatedly show you that request. They contain no personal information, are stored only on your device, are never transmitted anywhere, and are deleted automatically when you uninstall the Extension.

6. Advertising

The Extension may display a single, clearly labeled static text link to another product. This link involves no tracking: no advertising identifiers, no impression or click measurement, no cookies, and no third-party ad code. Whether and when it is shown is not based on any data about you.

7. Permissions

The Extension requests one permission: "storage," used exclusively for the two local values described in Section 5. It cannot read the pages you visit, your tabs, your bookmarks, or your clipboard beyond the copy action you explicitly trigger.

8. Cookies, Analytics, and Third Parties

The Extension contains no cookies, no analytics or telemetry, and no third-party code that receives user data. We share no data with third parties because no data leaves your device.

9. Children's Privacy

The Extension does not collect data from anyone, including children under 13. No account or personal information is ever requested.

10. Your Rights

Under regulations such as the GDPR (EU/UK) and CCPA/CPRA (California), you have rights regarding personal data. Because the Extension collects no personal data and transmits nothing, there is nothing held about you to access, correct, delete, or port. The local values in Section 5 are under your control and are removed by uninstalling the Extension. If you have questions, contact us and we will respond.

11. Data Security

Since no data leaves your device, the primary security consideration is the integrity of the Extension itself. We publish only through the official Chrome Web Store, which reviews and cryptographically signs each version.

12. Changes to This Policy

If a future version changes how data is handled, we will update this policy, revise the date above, and describe the change before that version is released.
